About Sigga

Hi, I'm Sigga — an Icelandic ceramicist working from my home studio in Valencia, Spain, where I live with my family.

My path to clay wasn't a straight one. For years I worked as a hairdresser, finding my creative voice through form and color — shaping something with my hands, seeing the result in someone's eyes. But there was something else calling me, something I couldn't quite name.

It found me through The Artist's Way. One workshop, hands in clay, and something clicked. Unlike hair, where the feedback comes from others, clay only answers to you. It's an honest material — it meets exactly what you bring to it.

That discovery sent me to MIR, the Reykjavík School of Visual Arts, where I studied ceramics for two years. Those classes gave me everything I didn't know I was looking for: a creative outlet, a grounding practice, and a spiritual connection that has only deepened since.

That was 2015. Since then, clay has become my world. Each piece I make carries something of Iceland in it — its landscapes, its light, its quiet enormity — and something of the inner journey that brought me here. I craft every piece by hand from my Valencia studio, and I'm genuinely happy it found its way to you.
